Wizards of Waverly Place

Wizards of Waverly Place is a popular TV show that is aired on Disney Channel. It was premiered in October 2007 and presently the filming of third season has started since July 2009. This time it is aired on HDTV. This series is about the wiz kids. The three children of Russo family are under wizard training and plot revolves around these kids, their school life and activities. Due to its popularity, a movie has been produced on the plot and has released in August 2009. Alex is the main character of the both in the serial and movie. Two DVDs are available for Wizard at Waverley Place and a complete set is to be released by September of 2009 in Germany.

Wizards of Waverly Place Plot

The Wizards of Waverly Place is centered on the Russo family. They are a family of five comprising two sons Justin and Max, a daughter named Alex and their parents Theresa and Jerry. To the world they are just like any other happy family. But what others do not know is the fact that they are a family of wizards. Their dad has been a wizard in the past and the kids are undergoing training to become wizards in the future. The kids have acquired this ability from their father. The twist in the tale comes when it is revealed that only one of the kids can sustain their magical powers. As soon as they turn eighteen, a competition amongst the three siblings would decide who carry on with the legacy of the Wizards of Waverly Place.

Wizards of Waverly Place Characters

Alexandra Margarita Russa or Alex is the lead character of Disney’s popular TV show Wizards of Waverly Place. Selena Gomez plays this character. Alex is the second child and only daughter with an older and a younger brother. By character she is sly and outgoing, though academically she is mediocre. She is often mischievous wizard with her wand hidden in her shoes and socks. In different seasons of this serial, she has different love interests. Brad Sherwood and Riley, portrayed by Shane Lyons and Brian Kubach are seen wooing her in the first season of Wizards of Waverly Place. Dean Moriarty, played by Daniel Samonas and Ronald Longcape, Jr, played by Chad Duell are seen as her love interests in Season 2.

The magical world of Wizards of Waverly Place has captured the imagination of every viewer through both the seasons that have been concluded till date, 52 episodes in all. Season 2 ended in August. While season three has been confirmed, the debut date is yet to be announced and the number of episodes yet to be finalized. Season 2 was a long season, with all of 30 episodes. As per the latest news available, filming of season 3 has started and it will be shot in High Definition.
